Accomplished dancer Sandra Colton now calls Portland home, and she wants to help aspiring young people be successful in the field.
Colton is the author of “Book Me!” ($55.95, Pinstripe) that helps breaks down the keys to getting jobs in Hollywood.
Colton, who moved to Portland two months ago, won the 1992 Star Search “teen dance” segment with her sister, went on be a University of Oregon and Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader, played a part in the movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” competed on “So You Think You Can Dance” and performed in a Las Vegas opening acts for Bill Cosby and Lou Rawls. She also has been in many music videos and took a spin on “Dancing with the Stars.”
“Book Me!” is listed as “pick of the month” in the November issue of Dance Spirit Magazine.
Colton will sign books and host a workshop from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Cami Curtis Performing Arts Center, 1932 W. Burnside St.
