Police have arrested a second man in connection with Friday’s bomb blast at a Woodburn bank that killed two law enforcement officers and seriously wounded a third.

Bruce Turnidge, 57, of rural Salem, was arrested Tuesday by members of an interagency team investigating the explosion. He is the father of 32-year-old Joshua Turnidge, who was arrested Sunday night and charged with building and planting the bomb outside the bank.

Police said Bruce Turnidge faces charges of conspiracy to manufacture an explosive device and conspiracy to possess an explosive device. He will be arraigned Thursday morning in Marion County Circuit Court. His son was arraigned Tuesday morning.

Joshua Turnidge faces charges of manufacture of a destructive device, possession of destructive device, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and six counts of aggravated murder.

Police believe he also is the man shown in surveillance photos taken at a store where he allegedly purchased one of the cell phones used in the bomb attack.

Joshua Turnbridge was arrested Sunday night after evidence led investigators to him. Marion County Sheriff Russ Isham said the arrest was the result of "an intensive round-the-clock investigation by an interagency task force comprised of federal, state, county and city public safety agencies.”

The Portland Police Bureau joined more than a dozen law enforcement agencies to investigate the crime.
