A body found on Monday, Nov. 1, near Mt. Hood Community College has been identified as a possible transient.
It’s unclear what brought Michael Charles Porter, 39, of Eugene to the Gresham area, said Sgt. Richard Wilson, a Gresham police spokesman.
Porter’s autopsy on Tuesday, Nov. 2, showed no obvious cause of death, and the medical examiner is awaiting toxicology results, Wilson said. But no foul play is suspected and exposure to the elements is considered a contributing factor, he added.
A representative of the Army Corp of Engineers working near Southeast Stark Street and Troutdale Road called police at 10:42 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, to report finding a body along the trail to Beaver Creek near Mount Hood Community College.
The area is just south of Stark Street between South Troutdale Road to the east and Northeast Kane Drive to the west.
