A Clackamas County woman was arrested after a night of hot-tubbing and a fall down a bank into chilly Johnson Creek.
According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Amy Marie Brandt, 32, spent part of late Saturday night in an outdoor hot tub at a house along the creek at 7235 S.E. Label.
Sometime around midnight, she began arguing with her companion in the hot tub, Michael Henderson, 31.
Brandt reportedly got out of the hot tub and walked to the edge of the creek, where she slipped down the bank and fell in.
Neighbors began calling the Clackamas County Communications Center to report hearing a woman screaming in the water. They could not see her because the bank is covered in thick blackberry bushes
Rescuers responded and located Brandt clinging to blackberry bushes in 10 to 15 feet of water. She was pulled to safety with a flotation device attached to a long rope.
At 12:31 a.m. Sunday morning, Brandt was transported by American Medical Response to Providence Milwaukie Hospital, where she was examined and released.
A routine law-enforcement database inquiry revealed that Brandt is ordered by the court not to have any contact with Henderson, however. Because of this, she was arrested upon her release and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on a charge of violating the order.
She is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge Monday afternoon.
I've gotta agree with the previous poster...is this the Portland Trib or local version of the National Enquirer? So much for real journalism, Trib, this story pretty much sucks.

1. They quite possibly saved this woman's life.
2. In the process they uncovered a crime by a simple database check.
This is not a non-story. Cops are saving lives and enforcing domestic violence laws. That is why we pay those taxes.

You just can't make this stuff up. If only Hollywood could think of things like this then television and movies would be so much more entertaining!!!

Well, if the media can keep us interested in crap stories such as this one, then we won't pay attention to real issues that maybe we can do something about.

Quality Local reporting...must be in the business.
Why is the guy off the hook? Was he unaware of the court order? You don't get a court order against someone and then get together with them. That's a true waste of taxpayers money. What a nit-wit.
