Portland’s leaf depots will be open this weekend and in two weeks to gather all the fallen leaves that might otherwise clog city storm drains.
The Bureau of Transportation will open the depots from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Stanton Yard, 2929 N. Kerby Ave., and Westmoreland Park, on Southeast 22nd Avenue and Nehalem Street. On Sunday, the depot will be open during the same hours at Gabriel Park, at Southwest 42nd Avenue and Vermont Street.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the depot will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lents Park, Lents Park, at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard, and Westmoreland Park. On Sunday, Dec. 6, the depot will be open during the same hours at Gabriel Park.
Leaf depot costs are $5 per car load; $10 per truck, SUV or trailer load; $20 per truck and trailer (5 cubic-yard maximum). No commercial loads are accepted.
