Jason Wurster, organizer of the recall effort against Mayor Sam Adams, continues to say he is making no money from the petition drive, even though one of his businesses is paying one of his business partners to make automated telephone calls seeking additional volunteers.
Wurster and Moses Ross are partners in Forward Support, a local political consulting firm. Ross also owns the M.L. Ross Group, a separate business that makes so-called robocalls. On Aug. 21 the recall campaign paid Ross’ company $2,361.09 for robocalls featuring Wurster seeking volunteers to circulate recall petitions. Both Wurster and Ross insist Wurster or Forward Support did not receive any of the money.
On Monday, the campaign announced it has so far received around 10,000 signatures back from more than 450 volunteers. It needs to collect 32,138 valid signatures from registered Portland voters by Oct. 5 to force a recall election this fall.
Although the Portland area already has a national reputation for its urban planning policies, Metro seems intent on taking the planning process over the top. The regional government will open a 30-day public comment period on three major planning efforts on Sept. 15.
As part of its Making the Greatest Place process, Metro will seek comment on the current versions of its next Regional Transportation Plan, its Urban Growth Report, and its intergovernmental agreements on urban and rural reserves. The elected Metro Council is scheduled to finalize all of the documents next year to guide where and how the regional should grow in coming decades.
Much more information is available on Metro’s website, where comments will also be accepted through Oct. 15, at www.oregonmetro.gov/greatestplace.

Ellmyer, Who Has Filed With DPO, Seeks Support As Single Payer State Senate Appointee
A majority of Oregonians/Americans support a Single Payer plan* and yet the Oregon legislature does NOT have one legislator that supports a Single Payer health care solution for Oregon and America.
A majority of Oregonians/Americans support a Single Payer plan and yet the Oregon legislature does NOT have one legislator with the courage to support the boycott of a business, Whole Foods, whose CEO denounced a single payer solution in the Wall Street Journal.
A majority of Oregonians/Americans support a Single Payer plan and yet the Oregon legislature does NOT have one legislator willing to submit any single payer bill nor allow any Oregonian the right to discuss, argue or debate a single payer solution within the legislative assembly.
Fight The Status Quo - Take Action To Support A Single Payer Solution
Are you angry, like me, at being shut down and shut out of the health care debate in the Oregon legislature and congress because you support a Single Payer solution to Oregon's/America's moral and economic health care crisis?
Are you angry, like me, at the ignorant, mendacious, hooligans that have grotesquely seized the media spotlight pushing Single Payer advocates aside?
Well then, vent and channel that anger into positive action. It doesn't matter if you're a Democrat, Green, Republican or Independent. It doesn't matter where you live in Oregon. Send an email and tell everyone you know to send an email similar to the example below to the following - TODAY:

Subject: I Support Single Payer And Richard Ellmyer
The Oregon legislature does NOT have one legislator that supports a Single Payer health care solution for Oregon and America. All of us who support Single Payer have been disenfranchised from the democratic process in the legislative assembly. Please appoint Richard Ellmyer to the District 22 Senate Seat so that we will have at least one voice, one champion to express our views. Thank you.
Sincerely
If you fight for me I'll fight for Single Payer with a LOUDER voice.
Oregon Single Payer Sick Out Day - 12 to 2 PM
Please join me as single payer citizen activist or single payer state senator in late September or early October in demonstrations at congressional offices throughout Oregon. The date will be determined by the scheduled vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on Single Payer HR676. Bring a lunch, bring a friend, bring a sign. Every Oregonian that supports a Single Payer health care solution, especially those members of the groups listed below, is invited to take to the streets and take control of the health care debate.
The following groups support a Single Payer Solution to America's/Oregon's moral and economic health care crisis. They will announce to their members and constituents along with Oregon Health Watchers the date of Single Payer Sick Out Day.

Health Care Not Health Insurance Is The Most Important Public Policy Issue Affecting The Lives Of Every Oregonian/American.
I am 63 years old, own a home, own a business, seriously practice organic gardening, require time with my spouse and have no interest in pursuing a legislative career. What I do have is 34 years of experience as a political activist, no fear of corporate lobbyists and elected officials, a demonstrated passion for democratic due process, government transparency and accountability and a Single Payer health care solution to Oregon's/America's moral and economic health care crisis.
The Oregon legislature MUST have at least one champion for Single Payer. That champion is Richard Ellmyer. Act NOW.

FYI
February 8, 2009
Dear House Speaker Hunt and Senate President Courtney Et. Al.:
The current legislative debate over health care reform in our state does not include our view that the profit oriented private health insurance industry must not be the model upon which a solution to Oregon's moral and economic health care crisis should be based and that Oregon elected officials - public employees - voters and taxpayers must have EQUAL ACCESS to the SAME LEVEL of health care NOT a perpetuation of our current multitiered health insurance CLASS system.
We request that you find a place holder bill in each chamber which would substitute in its entirety the language of the Oregon Community Health Care Bill (see attached) so that an alternative choice may be discussed and debated this session. The Oregon Community Health Care Bill is the only current fully formed piece of proposed legislation which supports our vision of health care reform. We would welcome others that also meet our requirements.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
Richard Ellmyer - Oregon Community Health Care Bill author 2007
