If Jacquizz and James Rodgers were available, I’d say Oregon State is the favorite. Their loss tips the scale in Pittsburgh’s direction.
Oregon State will stack the box and try to stop Pitt’s superlative tailback, LeSean McCoy. The Panthers’ quarterback, Bill Stull, has trouble throwing the deep ball and has been only OK this season. The Beavers will try to turn the Panthers one-dimensional and force them to go to the air.
On offense, Oregon State will attack Pitt’s secondary with the passing game. I’d expect Sammie Stroughter to get James Rodgers’ fly-sweep duties. Stroughter will get plenty of duty in his final appearance as a Beaver. Shane Morales, too, should find the ball humming in his direction a lot.
OSU quarterback Lyle Moevao will have a big game, if the Beavers can establish any kind of rhythm running the ball with Ryan McCants. If not, the Panthers will try to pressure Moevao and force him into bad decisions.
If it’s close – and I expect it to be – Pitt has the advantage with its outstanding kicker, Conor Lee, who doesn’t miss from 40 yards on in.
OSU coach Mike Riley’s 7-0 coaching record in bowl games is in jeopardy.

I was somewhat worried when I heard that it was official the Rogers brothers weren't playing, but after hearing the Pitt players trash talking the Beavers, I know they will be ready. Our O-line will dominate, and McCants will plkay well... but Sammie Stroughter and Jeremy Francis will be the stars. The Big East... and all the East coast, for that matter, do not respect the Pac-10. The Pac-10 will be 4-0 in bowls after today, and 5-0 after tomorrow. GO BEAVS!
