Myles Wade, the former Benson and Central Catholic defensive tackle, has received a scholarship offer from the Washington Huskies, he tells scout.com's Chris Fetters.
The 6-3, 320-pound Wade told scout.com about the Huskies' offer on his way to visit Texas Tech, which has also apparently offered him. He also has interest from Nebraska and Auburn, and he says those schools are prepared to give him scholarship offers.
Texas Tech coaches have apparently been in Portland twice to visit with Wade, and he tells scout.com that Washington assistant coach Doug Nussmeier visited his home on Wednesday.
The Portland Tribune has been unable to reach Wade.
"People want an answer right now," Wade tells scout. com, "and it goes the same for me.
"At this point, if you're calling me, it better be to make an offer. That would make it easier for me. That's why I'm going to Texas Tech right now, because it took them a day to offer me. They saw my transcripts then offered me."
Wade committed with the Oregon Ducks, signing in 2007 after his senior year at Central Catholic. But he did not qualify academically to enter Oregon, and went to Arizona Western College, where he played in 2007.
