BEVOS: Portland looks to rebound from Tacoma rout

Triple-A rookie Will Inman will try to do Tuesday what fellow first-year Portland Beaver Matt Buschmann couldn't do in the first game against the Tacoma Rainiers: Get a lot of outs.

The Rainiers roughed up Buschmann in an 11-2 Pacific Coast League baseball win Monday at PGE Park.

Inman (0-1, 6.15) takes the mound at 7 Tuesday night, with Andy Baldwin (4-3, 4.61) pitching for Tacoma.

Bryan LaHair hit his 12th home run and drove in five runs to lead Tacoma's 20-hit onslaught in the series opener. Five Tacoma hitters had at least three hits.

La Hair started the scoring with an RBI double in the second and capped the Rainiers’ four-run third with a three-run blast to right as Tacoma got out to a quick 6-0 lead.

Jeff Clement, Chris Shelton, Mike Carp and Mike Morse also added three hits each for the Rainiers (33-31), who have won nine games in a row against the Beavers dating to the end of the 2008 season.

Doug Fister (3-0) struck out four and gave up two runs and seven hits with no walks allowed in his 5 2/3 innings of work for the Rainiers, who snapped a three-game skid.

Kyle Blanks was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored for Portland (32-33).

Coming off his strongest start of the season, Buschmann (3-7) gave up seven runs on a season-high 11 hits across five innings for the loss.
