White Bird
The dance presenter welcomes France's National Center for Contemporary Dance/Angers and dancer Robert Swinston in a celebration of late choreographer Merce Cunningham's 100th birthday. The program includes "Biped," a look at choreography and motion-capture technology, and "Beach Birds," as dancers move to the fluidity of flocks of birds. Swinston is a former Cunningham dancer.

Asylum Theatre
The company returns with its second production, Lanford Wilson's "Burn This." The story: Following the death of her roommate Robbie, dancer/choreographer Anna confronts her grief with the support of her steady but uninspiring boyfriend Burton, and her caustic and funny roommate and friend Larry. When Robbie's brother bursts into the apartment in a frenzy, sparks fly and he and Anna engage in a dance of fury, empathy, sadness, desire and limitless passion.

Oregon Symphony
The symphony is collaborating with four Oregon Shakespeare Festival actors, an opera director (Mary Birnbaum) and a Hollywood actor (Erick Avari) for a genre-bending symphonic and theatrical experience, "The Tempest," by William Shakespeare with score music by Jean Sibelius. For "The Tempest," Sibelius wrote the score from 1925-26. Birnbaum directed the symphony's "Bluebeard's Castle" in 2016 and returns for the iconic tale of magic and betrayal in a live dramatic production.

Snowvana
Snowboarders and skiers and other snow sports enthusiasts gather for the annual event. There'll be libations and food and vendors selling gear, and the big resorts — Timberline, Mt. Hood Meadows, SkiBowl, Mt. Bachelor — will be there for lift tickets and more.

Wild Arts Festival
Portland Audubon has moved its big festival to the Pearl District, as it celebrates nature with the works of regionally and nationally known artists and writers. The 39th annual festival takes place at Pure Space, 1315 N.W. Overton St., and proceeds benefit Portland Audubon's education and conservation efforts. It takes place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24.
There'll be 61 artists — jewelry designers, painters, printmakers and sculptors and artists in wood, fiber art and ceramics — portraying nature or wildlife, natural materials and environmental sustainability. Thirteen authors will be in attendance from noon-4 p.m. each day, including Nancy Tillman, Molly Hashimoto and Laura O. Foster.
