The reward for helping to solve the September 2018 murder of Andrew Patrick Hathaway has grown to $5,000.
Portland police on Wednesday announced the Hathaway family has now pledged up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. That is in addition to a Crime Stoppers of Oregon offer of a reward of up to $2,500.
The investigation started at 1:01 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, when Portland Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the report of a vehicle fire in the 6200 block of North Marine Drive. As firefighters battled the car fire, they located what was believed to be a deceased person inside the vehicle, which was a white 2003 Chevrolet Impala.
Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives responded to the scene to conduct a death investigation. The Oregon State Medical Examiner identified the deceased as Hathaway, 28, of Milwaukie, and determined that he died of homicidal violence.
There is no suspect information in the case.
