Local election counts only shift slightly Thursday

May primary election results in the most contested races only shifted slightly when when more vote total were released Thursday. Updated figures were posted on county election websites on the afternoon of May 19.

In the Multnomah County Chair race, Commissioner Jessica Vega Peterson increased her lead slightly to 42% of the vote, but is still headed for a runoff in the November general election. She will likely face Commissioner Sharon Meieran, who slipped slightly to 18%. Unemployment discrimination lawyer Sharia Mayfield has 15% and Commissioner Lori Stegman has 13%.
