Oregon's economy stays hot in June with 4% unemployment rate

Oregon's manufacturing industries added jobs in June, part of the state's record-setting employment during the past three years.

Oregon's record-setting economy continued chugging along in June, adding about 900 new jobs as the state unemployment rate stayed steady at about 4.1%.

State employment officials said Tuesday, July 16, that even though the state lost about 200 jobs in May, June's strongest gains were in professional and business services. That industry added about 1,200 jobs last month. Manufacturing also added about 900 jobs in June.
