The threat of a clash between at-ends political groups prompted organizers to cancel last year's 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade, but this year, the show will go on.

Last year, word spread that an alt-right group would march with the GOP in the parade. That was followed by an anonymous email from suspected Antifa members vowing to drag and push any right-wing marchers out of the parade. The anonymous email also said they would circulate flyers near the parade route condemning sponsors for allowing bigots to march. In fear of a violent outbreak at what's meant to be a celebration of the community, the parade was cancelled.
